I noticed that SSH has been discontinued here, but .htaccess seems alive and well.

I'm very new at this, but recently set up a PW protected folder on another server using an .htaccess file and changing permissions with an SSH terminal program.

Can I do something similar here - maybe in File Manager?

Thanks

Look for the option "Web Protect" in your cPanel. It will allow you to password protect directories.

File manager will allow you to change permissions on a directory if you choose, as well.

And welcome to the forums (and TCH if you just recently sign up)!
