shammer Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 I have my pgp keyset and I even have imported them to my site. What am I supposed to do with it now? I imagine it can encrypt emails to me but how do I set that up? What else can you do with it? Quote

shammer Posted February 15, 2003 Author Posted February 15, 2003 No, I know how to use PGP, I have been using it for years. My question is why do you upload it to the webhost? Just so you can tell people where to get it? Quote
KevinW Posted February 15, 2003 Posted February 15, 2003 Sorry. As to putting it on your web site, don't you simply upload the public key .asc file to your web site and make it available for download? -kw Quote
shammer Posted February 15, 2003 Author Posted February 15, 2003 that is what I was thinking but I was hoping there were some more goodies I was missing. Quote
rayners Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 You can also use CPanel to generate a private/public key-pair, which would allow you to do everything a private key does (e.g. ditigal signatures, decryption, etc) locally on TCH. Things like that could come in handy if you're using webmail on the system (do any webmail clients support PGP-like functions?) or if you're doing any crypto-type stuff in scripts (like some of the email <-> blog scripts I've been writing, though I've only needed public keys for that).
