To request the use of shared SSL, just drop us a help desk ticket. The use of our SSL is free with your hosting account. If you prefer to purchase your own certificate from a third-party agent, then we can install and host your certificate for a fee of $85/yr. Keep in mind, $85/year does NOT include the actual cost of the SSL Certificate as we do not sell them. It is only for installation and hosting of the certificate. Lianna Quote

But I have stumbled across a really good document by one of the leaders in the business: Verisign's Securing Your Website For Business (in pdf format) Unless you're really into reading the nitty-gritty, skip ahead in the 32 page document to the Appendix: How Digital Certificates Work on pages 30 and 31. A very good explanation of how the encryption processes that Verisign uses protect you. Now, Head Guru or one of the others will probably jump in here and give some more detail about how the Shared SSL here actually works and from whom our Certificate has been issued. Lianna Quote
