borfast Posted February 7, 2004 Posted February 7, 2004 I remember that there was a nice Windows-based FTP client to do that: FlashFXP - http://flashfxp.com . Quote
tr4nc3 Posted February 27, 2004 Author Posted February 27, 2004 Well, CUTE_FTP PRO is the ULTIMATE Windows FTP Client. It has built in everything you could think of and site to site transfers are one of the options. It's an expensive program and they've thought of almost anything. I've got the feature to work on other FTP servers, but not at TCH. I get ERROR:> SRC: Syntax error, command unrecognized. ERROR:> Site-to-site transfer failed. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Same here. I use CuteFTP exclusively and I couldn't get it to do a site to site transfer from my old host to TCH either. Never asked about it though. I just downloaded the entire site from my old host and uploaded it to TCH but I have a broadband connection and it didn't take that long to do. Quote
tr4nc3 Posted February 29, 2004 Author Posted February 29, 2004 I have a broadband connection and it didn't take that long to do. Yeah same here.. But my upstream is limited at 35kb/sec so that is kinda slow sometimes.. Can never have a connection that's TOO fast.. Thumbs Up Just thought I'd ask to see if it was possible. I've found that many things are possible with TCH, but not this I guess.. Overall.. NOT a big deal. TCH ROCKS!!! Rock Sign Quote
borfast Posted February 29, 2004 Posted February 29, 2004 If your other site uses cPanel, you can drop a Help Desk ticket and the admin guys can transfer the whole site for you (sorry, I didn't remember this earlier). Quote
nictech Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Hi all, I am new to the forum, found it trying to get help with CuteFTP. I am trying to do a site to site transferand everything connects but when I try to move a file it comes up: 500 I won't open a connection to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ,my current host IP,(only to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) my home IP I am connected to both hosts as I can open folders on both Cute FTP windows I have open. Anyone had this problem? Bob Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Welcome to the family, Bob! Yes, this was the problem most of us were having. Never did get a site to site transfer to work. Does your current host use cPanel? If so, the support desk can move the site over for you. If not, I think you will have to download your current site and upload it here Quote
nictech Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Thanks TCH-Bruce Good to know it is not just me. Will try another option as I have 8 sites at about 500MB and I haven't done the math but at 46kb dial up it amounts to a loooong time! Bob Quote

matsch Posted November 5, 2004 Posted November 5, 2004 It seems that for site-to-site (FXP) to work you need to have the right combination of FTP servers running on the source and target site host servers. See the chart at cuteftp.com: http://help.globalscape.com/help/cuteftppro6/s2stable1.gif Quote
