TCH-Thomas Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Im trying to install a swedish language pack to Invision power board but getting this message: Could not create a new directory in /home/lakewoo2/public_html/forums/lang, please give sufficient CHMOD permissions to allow this If I understand the installguide right, the permission is to be set to 755 and it is. Am i missing something? Quote
Madmanmcp Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Thomas, is the directory going under /lang or under /forums ? Maybe you need to change /forums to 755 if you are not already trying that. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 Sorry, I see i was a little late on updating my post. I figured it out. First i made it 777 and then back to 755. It worked. Thanks anyway Madmancp. There might be a new problem though (not sure yet if its a problem ) The archive in is according to install guide to be 755 but it keeps setting itself to 775. Is that a problem or is it supposed to do that (thinking about security here) Quote

I just checked the board I am working on and it is set at 755 and hasn't changed. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted February 4, 2004 Author Posted February 4, 2004 I did it through a ftp program. I didnt know there was differencies in chmod things between ftp and cpanel. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 There have been cases where the cPanel changes didn't stick. I'll keep looking but no permissions are changing by themselves in my setup. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 4, 2004 Posted February 4, 2004 Thomas, I've searched trough all the files included with Invision and I can see nothing in any of them that would change the permissions on that folder. Quote
