SEO Posted January 29, 2004 Posted January 29, 2004 Richard: Meow Web Design has been added to our Web Hosting Family Members page SEO Thoughts: Hmm.... Richard sometimes it is difficult to evaluate without offending the designer. Please do not take anything I say personal... it is an honest evaluation. Having that said, also keep in mind that my comments will be restricted to a search engine optimization point of view. It is obviously you who must weigh the decision on altering the visual presentation for the sake of an eight legged creature (i.e. search engine spider). Holding nothing back (really looking at home.html as your home page, see 1. below): 1. Get rid of the Intro. 2. Get rid of frames (real bad with regard to spiders analyzing a page) 3. Set Alt tags on all your images 4. Woo! You have a lot of keywords! Reduce these (substantially) to the most relevant only. The more words you have in any of your meta tags means that each word you do have will be less significant (i.e. watering down relevancy of all). Also, remember to list these in order of importance; most important first) 5. Assuming you want to optimize for Meow Web Design, change all your 'We can...' to 'Meow Web Design can...' 6. Offset keyword phrases within your body text with a bold tag. 7. Include a couple header tags within the body. These should contain keywords. I know you are not going to like some of these suggestions, especially 1. and 2., sorry. These two suggestions are the most important out of the lot (i.e. have the greatest contribution to rank). Again sorry and good luck. Quote
RJSkon Posted January 29, 2004 Author Posted January 29, 2004 Scott Thank you very much for the much appreciated review. I was thinking about getting rid of publishing using frames, but I used them here because I had good success with spiders especially Google's in the past with frames. I will change that, than I won't have to worry about one of the other page bodies being picked up by a search engine, without the top and left frames. As far as the Intro Page, I think I'll wait a while and see what happens. All your other suggestions I'll follow up with. Thanks again Richard Quote
