I'm using FP 2000 and have recently finished configuring MovableType to run my web log. The problem I am having is that FrontPage wants to delete any files in the public_html directory that "it" didn't put there. I'm not looking forward to answering "no" to the delete option for every file. I figure there has got to be a way around this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but for what it's worth...I've never had very much luck getting FP to act nicely with unfamilar files.

For future reference...I was unable to find a direct solution to the problem I was having with Frontpage. I did, however, find an acceptable workaround. Rather than publishing into the root of the public_html folder, I'm publishing into a sub-folder (called /fp/ in this case). Frontpage isn't looking at any files outside the sub folder...so all is well. The only other thing I had to do was add a line of code to my .htaccess file to find the index.html in the sub folder and I was rolling.

:) A minor victory over the arrogance of Frontpage.

One of these days I'll look into a different authoring tool.
