Hello,

I am looking to move my site from my current host and have a quick question.

I noticed in the demo version of cpanel you supply I can grant specific priveliges to a particular user.

Is this function available to me?

I want to set up a specific user on a specific database and restrict/choose (GRANT)specific priveliges such as SELECT, INSERT and UPDATE etc that are available to that user. Is this possible with your version of cpanel or phpMyAdmin?

Also could you please verify which version of cpanel you use.

Thank-you

cPanel Build = 8.5.3-STABLE 3

No, the feature shown on the cpanel demo is not available here. You should be able to replicate the functionality through phpMyAdmin though by using SQL statements.

Create a user in Manage MySQL, but do not assign the user to the db.

Then run a grant SQL statement in the db through phpMyAdmin.

A bit more hassle, but even MySQL documents this method as preferred.

Thank-you so much for the prompt reply..amazing. woooot

I am vary familiar with phpMyAdmin, so if you assure me I have GRANT priveliges enabled on any databases I create I'm happy to use phpMyAdmin.

This is the reason I am changing hosts, so I just want to make sure I can do it.

All of the reviews I have read about your hosting site have been very positive and now I see why.

If you can confirm this is absolutly possible, then I'am ready to sign up immediatly, I am just a little hesitant as you have said 'You should be able to '

Thanks again.
