MothaCuss Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 Alright i love TCH now, but i have yet another question. I would like to thank the mods immensly for the help they've been so far. My question is about redirects. I want to create a a re-direct that when you type www.freecityskates.com/guestbook it will take you to my huge long link to my guestbook, or the same thing for my mailing list. What does the extension on the re-direct (guestbook, guestbook.html? guestbook.com?) have to be? It doesn't work so far, all it says is that it can't find my link. Quote
TCH-Rob Posted November 21, 2003 Posted November 21, 2003 (edited) Try this in your .htaccess; Redirect /olddirectory/oldfile.html www.yoursite.com/newdirectory/newfile.html Edited November 21, 2003 by TCH-Rob Quote
MothaCuss Posted November 21, 2003 Author Posted November 21, 2003 You are awesome. lol. The only problem left is that when i try to do that to my mail thing (its really not nessicary since /mail isn't much shorter than /webmail) but it says Forbidden...so is it not possible to do a re-direct to my webmail thing? Or do i need to set permissions somewhere, and if so how. I won't actually end up doing this, but i kinda don't understand how to set and change permissions. You guys are awesome btw. Quote
