How do you limit access to a site via requiring a login ID and password?

In your sites cPanel under the section site Management click on web protect and you can set passwords for any file or directory.

That's a great way to restrict parts of your site to one or two users. Well, actually, it can be done for as many as you want...but would get tedious entering hundreds of users into .htaccess via CPanel.
