Hi all -

As far as I can tell, I can only use POP to download my mail. Are there any plans to move to IMAP soon?

(xxxxxxx.org).

Thanks!

Your mail server support both pop3 and imap protocol. You just need to use your favorite mail client to configure your mail on imap protocol.

Here is the settings you required;

Secure SSL/TLS Settings

Username: you@yourdomain.org
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: butterscotch.tchmachines.com
IMAP Port: 993
POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: butterscotch.tchmachines.com
SMTP Port: 465

Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

If you have any problems to access the mails on imap, please submit a ticket to the help desk.

Hi guys -

I originally assumed only POP3, because of this FAQ from your site:

https://www.totalchoicehosting.com/faq/thunderbird.html

which I got to from this site:

https://support.totalchoicehosting.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/5/1/how-to-set-up-your-e-mail-client

then clicked on Email on the next page.

Thanks, I seem to be using IMAP now. I was surprised I shouldn't be using mail.mydomain.org.

Thanks,

Valerie

The reason for using the server names instead of your domain name is you are using secure ports for IMAP and you don't have your own security certificate. This eliminates having to accept the server certificate each time it checks for mail.

Is butterscotch the server used for all mail or do we use our actual server name when setting up IMAP?
