stevevan Posted September 4, 2003 Posted September 4, 2003 I have another individual who I allow to edit my website. He is using MS XP and FP02. Here is part of the email he wrote me describing the problem he is having. (Note...website name edited out.) I can publish to FTP without a problem.I've done it on both desktop and laptop. I get to the password section when I try to publish to the http location. Then it keeps returning to the password prompt. I thought it might be a first time headache, but after ten times of entering I hit cancel. The computer has a funny bone, because it asks, "A web does not exist at http://www.xxxxxxxx.org. Would you like FrontPage to create a web at that location?" Click OK, computer really gets touchy, says, no can do, Why? 1. Server Extensions not installed 2. Web server temp out of service 3. If connecting thru a proxy, settings may be wrong (I'm not) 4. An error may have occurred in the web server. He does have the valid username/password and is entering them correctly. Some time ago, I had the same problem using Win2k and FP2k. I re-installed the server extensions via cpanel and now have no problem using either laptop or desktop. Does anyone know of any other peculilarities with FP or had similar experiences? Quote
