Hi,

I'm managing a site for a client in my reseller's account. They asked me to change forwarding for an email account because the person had left their company. Sounds simple, right?

I change the forward to the new address, call it done. Hours later, they call, apparently the emails are still going to the old forward address. Now they are in a panic, this MUST BE CORRECTED, need I say it was at 5PM?

So I do the next best thing, delete the account altogether. Now what happens is, when I send mail to that account to test, it just disappears. No bounce or forward. Mail sent to another address (dummyaddress@mydomain) does bounce with "no such user here" message. Would like to see the mail to this deleted address give me that error too, just so I could reassure the client.

Is this an issue for help desk? Or is there normally some time delay when you delete an email account, like when you change name servers?

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

Welcome to the forum, erronius. :clapping:

This definitely sounds like a thing for the help desk to check so please submit a ticket with them. Link on top of page and in my signature.

Thanks for quick reply, that's why I like TCH! I think this is resolved -- I find out from the client that email is being forwarded after all, so that would explain the no-bounce.
