Ignite Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Ok, here's the problem. I haven’t been getting any E-mails for about two weeks. The problem was not on my end. I did a send/receive just fine but I just didn’t receive any mail, when I know I should have. So, after a few tickets with ***** we resolved the problem. But something still bothers me. Here's their explanation: "I looked into your problem and the error message was exactly correct. Your mailbox file has taken up your entire disk space quota. Bill authorized me to add 2 more megs to your quota, but in the future, I would recommend that you set your email client program to delete mail from the server once it has been downloaded and read. If you do that, you should never run into this problem again. Thank you for using our service." Now, I've been using outlook for over 5 years and I have never encountered anything like this. I wasn’t aware that I needed to set outlook to delete mails from my mailbox after download... Anyways, anyone familiar with this? How would I set outlook to do something like that? Quote
rayners Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Do you ever check mail for your main account (i.e. the username you signed up to SNH with)? If not, that may explain why your mailbox has gotten so big. Quote
KevinW Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 The option to delete or keep mail up on the mail server is a standard option in virtually all client email programs. Indeed, the peference is to set it so that once your email program (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, etc) has retrieved your email from theserver, that it is then deleted from the server. In Outlook Express, for example, you would find it by going to Tools > Accounts > Mail > Properties > Advanced -kw Quote

The only thing i see the comes close is an option to "Leave a copy of messages on server" for a certain period of time, which is unchecked. Quote
