waterranger Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Hi, I have a Reseller Account and would like to block countries which are a major source of forum and email span from all the sites I host. Examples: Russia and China. Has anyone found a nice way to do this? Going to CPanel for each site and blocking all the IP's for each country that are problematic would be very time consuming. See: http://www.apnic.net/apnic-bin/ipv4-by-country.pl?country=cn for a list of IP's for China. The key here is do it in one place so that all sites under the reseller account are affected. Removing forum spam is now a daily chore. Thanks Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Welcome to the forum, waterranger. Not sure you can do this "in one place" such as through the WHM, but please have look at this, I think it will do what you want. Quote

There are several ways to accomplish this (block at the forum, block at .htaccess) See: http://www.stopforumspam.com/downloads/ If possible I would like TCH to provide this as a service, or have a plugin to WHM that we could turn on that points to a DB that TCH maintains. TCH-Bruce Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Since TCH does not control what options the people that provide cPanel and WHM include I don't see how that's possible. TCH could request something like that be added but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to happen. It is the users responsibility to control the content on their sites. Quote

The option is provided to the user to easily control who has access to their site. .... and no I won't hold my breath, but I may write some code .... Quote
