secrivals Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 OK, we have had a TON of weird web site addresses pop up in awstats as 'link in' routes. Tonight I found a link in from a 'black hat' SEO blog......followed the link to the site and at the top of the site was this: Recommended site: http://"My Site Name:2082" ????? What are they doing? Better yet, what steps can we take to stop it from happening? I'm not complaining "that" much because at least some of them are giving me some adsense clicks (lol). At the same time, it has been happening for a LONG time. We have tried IP banning at the server level, but of course they just come in with a fresh IP. The main reason I am asking is our forums have been brought down to our knees three times in the past three years and if it happens again, we are shutting the doors for good. The crashes have chased off nearly 80% of our members and ad revenue has went from a solid high to nearly nothing. Any way to stop this? Quote
