Hello,

I currently have 4 computers connected to the internet, and I am unable to receive emails on any of them. I was able to send with no problems until today, but I resolved that by changing the outgoing port from 25 to 26. Not sure why this became an issue all of a sudden. I use Thunderbird on all of my machines. I also know it is not a firewall issue as on one PC it is a new setup and no security installed yet. As of last night email was working, actually maybe this morning.

I am using the widek server and my incoming/outgoing address is mail.teamcandj.com.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks you.

Welcome to the forums John :thumbup1:

It has nothing to do with your email on TCH. It has to do with your ISP. They are now blocking the use of port 25 for sending email. A lot of ISP's are blocking the use of port 25. TCH allows for email to also be sent SMTP over port 26 to alleviate the issue.

As for not being able to receive email I assume you are using POP3 on port 110. Just be sure that your are validating by using your full email address and password to receive.

Thanks Bruce, not sure what happened but it just started working again. I use Verizon Fios and have been for years, but the problem certainly was with Verizon. Just for the heck of it I changed outgoing back to port 25 again and now it is working just as it was. One change I did make and that was on my router firewall, I turned of "Allow Incoming ICMP Echo Requests (e.g. pings and ICMP traceroute queries)". I am not sure if that has something to do with it or not, but I know this is not the right forum for it or not. I know it has nothing to do with Total Choice, but not sure if that screwed me up with Verizon or not. Anyway, I will test that feature again.

Thanks for the quick response. I do appreciate it.

Sincerely,

John Thomas
