Managing Multiple Site Developers - Best Approach?

I've been maintaining a site on my own for a while, but I would now like to allow a second person to have cPanel access, mainly to use File Manager to make file updates, upload files, etc. There's the ability to create FTP accounts to allow others to make updates / uploads, but this requires the second site developer to install (and understand) a FTP tool, file editing tool(s), etc. Not the biggest hurdle, but I'm trying to keep things simple for this new developer. So, is there some way to create a secondary cPanel account to allow someone else use of File Manager and other cPanel tools without sharing the primary cPanel password?

 

A side question - cPanel File Manager and FTP allows setting group permissions on files, but I can't find a way to create and manage groups via cPanel or any documentation / posts on this topic. Could anyone offer some background on using groups and group permissions?

No there is no way to do it other than give access to your cpanel account. Not something I would recommend unless you completely trust that person.

 

Your best option would be to create an FTP account that uploads in the folder you want to give them access.

 

No there is no group manager in cpanel either, sorry.
