Guest GuestOlsenGuest Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I set up a couple test installs of my new favorite CMS, Drupal, on a live account but I want to start working on the real version so I don't have to reinstall all the modules and theme changes. The hiccup is that I just haven't bought my domain name yet, so I'm holding off on registering a new TCH hosting plan. Is that a good idea? Would working on a TCH IP work? I guess I'm just worried that I build my site and then encounter a bunch of problems I didn't consider when I have the real domain name in place. Any suggestions? Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 While I haven´t used Drupal I have used other CMS´s and I would go on with registering a domain name and make a test install in a subfolder of the account and then when the test install either move it to the public_html if the test became what you want for a "live site" or rebuild it in the public_html. So basically you would not need a second account for this but keep in mind that using the ip number is only a temporary solution, you will need a domain name connected to your TCH account and I also do not think that using an ip number instead of a domain name will work when it comes to databases and such. Does this make sense? Quote
