enochko Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Hi, I am considering signing up and setting up a website, but the problem is the domain name I have is currently used for my email. How should I set things up if I want to start hosting a website? Is it possible to use cname to setup a "www" entry to point to TCH server (like how Google's hosted services are setup)? Or should I transfer the DNS over then change the MX record to point to the mail server? If only the second option is possible, then how likely is it that emails will be lost during the transition period? Or should I just buy another domain name and setup the web server there, and redirect all traffic (other than mail) to the new domain name? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 Hi, yes it's possible to do but I'm not sure which way would be best. If you would open a ticket with our help desk (link above) they will certainly steer you in the right direction. For the information you do not have enter N/A while filling out the form.
