Poolmeister Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I am new to TCH-just purchased yesterday. I have a domain name through another registrar, and it points to the current location of my site. When I purchased my TCH hosting package, I needed to enter my domain name. I did not purchase the domain name registration through TCH, but I am worried now that access to the current location of my site will be interrupted. Would someone please explain if I need to be concerned? Thanks very much. Quote
TCH-Dick Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 What server your domain resolves to depends on what name servers you have set at your registrar. So until you make changes at the registrar, your account will resolve to its current location. Quote
Poolmeister Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 I went to my registrar's settings page and I see how to change the nameserver. It sounds like once I duplicate my site on my TCH space, I "throw the switch" by changing the nameservers through my registrar, and after a few days of propagation, the transition occurs seemlessly. Thanks for the quick reply. Quote
