flamey Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 How recent are the DB's in the Backup page in the CPanel? It's .gz files - are they generated every some period, or some how generated "live"? Also, how do you restore it if need be — do I unzip it first, or feed it the original .gz file? Thanks in advance! Quote
TCH-Andy Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 The backups are done 'live' whenever you request one. You can set up a cron job and script to do automatic backups if you want to. The best way to restore, is to upload the gz file to the server, open a ticket at the help desk, and ask us to restore it for you. Quote
flamey Posted March 18, 2008 Author Posted March 18, 2008 thanks for reply! 'live' compressed backup is very good news. how about "restore option in cpanel, will it take the gz file generated by cpanel? Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't. That's why Andy said to just upload the .gz file to your account and open a ticket and let the techs restore it. Quote

TCH-Andy Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 There are details in the backup FAQ thread. Quote
