Email Aliases And The Forwarding Ban Policies

Hi everyone,

 

I'm looking for updated & expanded information. I understand the issue of not wanting TCH to be blacklisted by other hosting companies, and I want to be able to explain the policies to other folks - especially now that we have moved to a reseller account (yay!).

 

Which hosting companies are now banned for domains on TotalChoice to use with email aliases?

 

I was aware that AOL, Comcast, Hotmail, and MSN are banned. I saw someone mention on one of the forums that Earthlink email addresses were also not okay to forward to (as an alias?) but I didn't see that confirmed.

 

Any others?

 

Also, if someone has a regular email address on associated with a domain on TCH, can that be individually set to forward to an email address on one that is banned when mail comes in, or is that also not okay? (ie, forwarded, not an alias).

 

And how does this apply to mailing lists - Phplist and Mailman or other programs that are used on TotalChoice?

You can find out about the forwarding policies here.

 

Mailing lists are not forwards so would not fall under the same policy but be aware if a domain is reported of SPAMMING it will be banned. Now if you are a reseller and the domain is hosted under you, your reseller account may be suspended.

Yes I am aware of the spamming policy and absolutely support it. We won't host anyone we don't know well and trust.
