qman Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 A few years ago I was able to install a PHP bulliten board directly off of the C-Panel Page. I was able to install it with just a mouse click. First, is is still possible to do this? If not, is there another way to do the same thing from a different source. Thanks Qman Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 phpBB is no longer available through Fantastico. If you want phpBB you will have to download it from the phpBB site. And here is a link to the installation instructions Or you can install SMF Forum through Fantastico in you cPanel. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I would give SMF fourm a try, its very nice and easy to upgrade. Quote
stevesh Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I'd second the SWF suggestion. More secure and easier to update. Looks good, too. Quote
qman Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 I would give SMF fourm a try, its very nice and easy to upgrade. What is SMF and what is the SMF forum? The only reason I use the PHPbb is that I could install it just by clicking the mouse. Customizing PHP is not that difficult. The problem I have is with the simple stuff. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 SMF is short for Simple Machine Forum created bt the same people the created Yaba Board. You can install with a few mouse clicks in your cpanel . Fantastico installer. Once installed you can upgrade it in the admin forum panel with a few mouse clicks. It is a very secure forum. There are many here that use it. Visit the forum home site with the link at the bottom of the page of your forum to find mods and skins. So give it a try and see how you like it. Quote
