mar Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hi All Have been frustrated over CMS thingies. Tried phpwebsite, and geeklog, and joomla. Reinstalled geeklog and have made up my mind that it is not going to defeat me. Fantastico has installed geeklog into the public_html/geeklog folders.. As I have a place holder(index.html) in the public_html folder I can enter my url (atlanticsalmonanglers.com) and my under construction sign comes up.. In addition, by adding geeklog to my url and signing I can administrate and change things for the first page(index.php. My question is "after I remodel the index.php file what do I have to do so that when I enter my url (atlanticsalmonanglers.com) the index.php file opens?" I realize that index.html has to be removed. Also likely files have to be moved and possibly config.php or whatever has to have a minor modification. This is a major learning curve for an old goober like me. Thank you in advance Stephen Quote
TCH-Don Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Welcome to the forum and the family Stephen To have your geeklog come up by just going to your domain one way is in cpanel > redirect put your index.html in the left window and in the right window put your domain/geeklog/index.php then select temporary or permanent redirect depending on if this will be temopary or not. TCH-Thomas Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 While we mods may not know the answer to all the questions, this forum have nearly 9000 members so usually an answer shows up pretty quick. I can't even get a burger that fast This could be a new business idea for Bill if he decides to expand...TotalChoice Hamburgers. Quote
