DanSalton Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I want to install Nucleus in my root directory (so it can be my Home Page), but I've already installed SMF in the root directory (oops). So what files belong to SMF and need to be moved to a "forum" subdirectory? How hard is this to do? Am I better off deinstalling SMF? Would rather not, but will if I have to get this set up correctly. Quote
DanSalton Posted May 1, 2007 Author Posted May 1, 2007 I just saw that there is a "General Support - Site maintenance" forum... probably should have posted this there. Posted it here because the error message said: The installation can not be completed: - You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain. Click on the browser's Back button to fix reported errors. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I would install a fresh copy of the SMF forum into a forum directory and then apply any mods to it that you have already done. You can use the same database with the new install. Just edit your config information to do so. Then uninstall SMF from your root folder and install the other package. Quote
TCH-Thomas Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Welcome to the forum, DanSalton. Agrees with Bruce. That´s how I would do it as well. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Where are my manners? Welcome to the forums Dan! Quote
DanSalton Posted May 1, 2007 Author Posted May 1, 2007 Thank you gentlemen. I'll try that later this week. Quote
