Php-nuke Porn Spammers!

Hi All,

 

I been invaded by I AM A SPAMMER bot spammers on my PhP nuke forums hosted by TCH. This is really NOT cool since my members for this video game are pre-teens/teens ect. I understand that they see this type of crap anyway on tv and online but I dont want it to be from my forums.

 

I've already enabled registered users to post. Now they seem to make accounts too. Thier IP changes all the time as well.

 

Suggestions?

I am not familiar with php-nuke, but does it have some sort of captcha (images with codes you need to verify before a post is submitted)? If so, enable it.

Most major forums captcha has been cracked. I have seen a program at work which not only registers an account on a list of forums it even checks the email address supplied for validation emails and activates the accounts. This is why I stopped using phpBB and now use SMF with a custom captcha instead of the one they supply.

It's getting pretty bad when spammers will go through so much trouble.

Actually I've seen the program running and it's so simple it's scary. It will even make the email account for you on places like mail.ru. You then just load a list of URLs (grabbed from google usually) and leave it to it. Here is the video of it in action www.botmaster.net/movies/XFull.htm the site belonging to the moron that made it.

Ok first of all if you are using the phpnuke version in fantastico. Then that is your first mistake. Second I also use phpnuke but a very highly modded version. And I DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. In fact anything that is even close to a suspicious sign up and my nuke will not allow it. Until I approve them. Now if you would like to know more about my version that I use please feel free to PM me. As the version I use is also associated with another host and putting up a link here is a no no.
