Hi,

I wanted to know if any of you have experienced this, or know what is causing it so I can stop it.

Quite often, I've been informed by email that I my disk usage is "critical." Then I go into cPanel and take a look around I find that there is a HUGE file that has suddently appeared. The first place I check is the mt directory since that's where the file is most of the time. It's always named something like core.XXXXX. I go ahead and delete the file and the problem is solved.

Where is this file coming from? It's not from me. Do you have any idea how I can fix this so it doesn't happen again?

In answer to your question, I change my password often, to a "safe" password. I have reinstalled (fresh) MT three times.

Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!

One of the MT experts will be along shortly - but I'd be pretty sure it's a core dump when your MT has "crashed" for some reason.

What exactly is causing it to crash, you would need to look in the log file and possible in that dump file.
