Mae Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 What is a subdomain? And how does it work? Is it ok if I want to use my name's sake website for more than type of site? For example, I want to sell handcrafted jewelry from my site, but my site is mostly a classroom site at this time. What if I did my jewelry as www.name.com/jewelry? And kept my classroom pages in tact? Does that make sense? Would I be breaking some sort of rule? Quote
TCH-Andy Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Mae, That would be fine. You can either use www.name.com/jewellery (which puts all your jewellery in a folder) to keep it separate, or you could use jewellery.name.com which would be a subdomain. Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 If you want the subdomain do not create the folder first. Create the subdomain and it will create the folder for you. Quote
TCH-Don Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 And when you upload, ftp to the domain/folder unless you create an ftp account to go to that folder, which I find to be easier. Quote
