Chmod On Ftp

I saved all the files from my old webhost onto my computer, then uploaded to my TCH ftp. Now all the chmod settings for my files aren't what they used to be. It seems like they've changed once uploaded to the TCH ftp server. I need my CHMOD settings to be kept after uploading...

I don't know of any ftp program that will retain permissions when downloading or uploading.

 

If you still have access to your old account and had cpanel

the techs may be able to transfer your site with a cpanel transfer.

Just open a help desk ticket with the login user / password for both accounts.

 

Otherwise you will need to look at the install instructions for any scripts you installed for the correct settings.

Or if you still have access to the old site, compare settings.

Thanks Don. I've just referenced my old install, and CHMOD whatever needed to be changed.

Don't forget when you are done

you can make a back up in

cpanel > download home directory

and download databases.
