I bought a domain name today, and I'm pretty sure it hasn't propagated as of this writing.

Is it advisable to wait a few days, until the domain propagates, before buying a hosting account for it?

Or, can I purchase a hosting account at any time, and just request a help ticket to link up the domain with that account?

Thank you!

You can purchase the hosting at anytime. The welcome email will give you an IP address so you can access the account space and start configuring it.

Also, how can the domain name propagate without nameserver entries to show where it's supposed to be hosted?

Bruce,

If I recall correctly, this afternoon, when I purchased the domain, I went into My Account/Manage Domains. The domain was listed there.

I clicked the NAMESERVERS icon.

I set the nameservers to:

NS1.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM

NS2.TOTALCHOICEHOSTING.COM

Considering I did this immediately after getting an e-mail confirming the purchase, did I do the right thing, or the wrong thing?

Maybe I should just go purchase a hosting account for it right now, and take things from there.

I've been asking a lot of questions here, lately. I admit to being indecisive about what, exactly, I want to do with these domains.

Thanks for your help. Jd

Are you purchasing a new hosting account or are you parking this domain on top of an existing domain? If you are purchasing a new hosting account depending on what server it is created on will determine what the name servers will be.

If you are parking the domain then it would use the same name servers as your current account.

I'm not going to park this new domain. I plan on purchasing a silver hosting account for it.

I think what I better do is purchase the hosting plan for it, get the welcome e-mail, and take things from there.

Thanks again.
