Hi All, I need your help.

I have been having some computer issues and don't know what is wrong. So I thought I would ask and see what you all think.

I am running an AMD Athlon 1.15GHz with 640MB RAM on Win XP Pro.

I have been experiencing that BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death).

I am getting the following information:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

NDIS.sys - Address F89F4A96

Techincal Information:

*** STOP: 0x000000D1

Any ideas and or suggestions would be grateful. Cheers ...

Thank you Bruce. That showed me what the problem is ... or what they think the problem is, now its just a matter of trying to figure out what on my PC is causing the problem.

While you may not be able to do it with this machine, depending on when you get the blue screen, try upgrading your NIC driver and see if that helps.

Sounds like a NIC issue to me.

What the article is telling you is that the software driver "ndis.sys" has a problem. This driver is loaded by the manufacturer of the network card (usually) or it is the default driver loaded by MS and it either has a conflict with something else in your computer or the file is damaged.

You can reload the driver and see if that fixes the problem or download and install an update for it if there is one available. There could also be a problem where the network card you are using is not on the HCL (Hardware Compatability List) for XP.

Haven't changed your graphics card by any chance have you.

Can you get into Safe Mode at all. If not then I believe your only course is to boot from the Windows CD and do a repair install which might fix it. I have this experience in the past on the occassion where I changed video cards, and didn't roll back to a standard VGA card prior to removing and installing.

If it is the Network card or the network is on the motherboard, either take out the network card or turn off the network on the motherboard and see if you can then boot up either normally or safe mode.
