Filtering Spam From Non-tch Pop Accounts? (webmail)

hi all, quick question:

 

i have my own installation of squirrelmail, from before it was installed by default by tch. it has several mods running, one of them being a fetch mail programme, to get mail from other, non-tch, POP3 accounts.

 

the problem is that this mail is not getting filtered by SpamAssassin (the other mail is - just not the mail from the non-tch POP accounts). I was wondering if there is any way to add such a filter. when i look on the squirrelmail page there are loads of plugins (http://www.squirrelmail.org/plugins_category.php?category_id=all), but i am not sure whether any of them would work and be possible to install by just FTPing them over?

I don't see a solution with the plugins listed. Why not work on filtering the other POP3 accounts before you fetch them?
