Switching Primary Domain Names

Hello, I would like to know how can I change the primary domain name I used to get an account with TCH to a new one more fitting for my sites content? Also if I do change it and keep the old one pointing at the site will I have problems with my databases, mysql, paths etc?

Hi,

 

1. Register the domain name you want

2. Point it to the nameservers listed in your welcome email

3. Submit a ticket to the help desk ask them to either change the name or park it.

 

Databases shouldn´t be a problem I think, but paths in configuration files etc might need to be updated.

You know what though, I never had the nameserver info in, I just fowared the domains to my primary domain. Do I still need to do the above in order to completely mask my domain names or will it do it automaticlly.

The above procedure is correct is you want to replace or park the domain name.

I don´t know what the forwarding procedure would look like since I have never forwarded a domain name. Personally I would park it.
