Advanced Guestbook

I have the advanced guestbook v2.3.4 and I cannot access the admin panel. I tried the reset.php provided by carbonize, but it requires a MySQL password to reset. The problem is that the password I have won't work. I was told, after submitting a ticket on the matter, that the MySQL password can be reset to blank through phpMyAdmin. I just have no idea where to change this info. Any help from whomever would be appreciated, thanks.

Well that's one way to do it. Another is to create another user and add it to the database. That would allow you access to the admin area I beleive.

I did that before, but just tried it again. I don't know if it's looking for the other user's password, but the password for the new user won't work, and there's no place to specify user in the reset.php page.

 

If anyone is familiar with the phpMyadmin program and could direct me to where to reset the password through there, I may be able to fix this. Thanks

Is there a config file for the guestbook? The password and user should be in the config file.

I found what was wrong with it, the correct password was in the config.ini.php file. So I plugged that in and was able to get into the admin account. Thanks for the help though.

I thought I explained in the file that you had to get the database password from the config file? I do recommend updating to AG 2.4.1 as it has anti spam now and comes with a password reset script in the misc folder.
