Hi,

I guess this topic might have been discussed before but I could not find any topic by searching forums. Maybe I cannot find correct search term.

There is a deleted e-mail address belong to a former employee. Since this e-mail account no longer exist, a lot of spam e-mails are coming to main e-mail account from this address. How can I adjust server to ping these messages as undelivered, instead of sending them to main account.

Thanks for help.

Set your default address in cPanel to :fail:

Thanks for responding so fast.

But I want to ping only messages which is coming to this deleted account not all messages. Because a lot of people spell active addresses incorectly and I don't want to miss these messages. Is there any software or script which can handle these kind of selective pinging.

Thanks

You could set up a forwarder to send that email address to :fail:. That sends a bounce message back to the sender though, and you're still processing the mail, so that might not be the best option.

Sorry, I used incorrect term. It should have been "bounce" not "ping".

I will try forwarding method. Thanks.

If they can't spell my email address right I probably don't want their email anyway. Just my opinion so my default is set to :fail: and when they get the bounce they will figure it out.
