Where Do I Start?

I want to create a second website with it's own domain address and I'm not sure where to start.

 

At present I have a site ronpemberton.com installed here with WordPress 1.5.1.3 and want to keep it personal and seperate from other websites.

 

The second site will utilize WordPress 2.0 and have it's own domain name.

 

Q: If I create a new database along side the one I already have, can I direct a new domain just to it? What do i enter at GoDaddy.com?

 

How do I access it with SmartFTP client and not my original site database?

 

 

Could someone please tell me steps 1-10; I would be most grateful. I have googled and search through tutorials all day. I'm a virgin to this whole database creation thing.

For a normal account you can only have one web site with your domain.

For a second site with its own domain, you need another account.

Pointing a domain name to file or folder or sub-domain is a violation of the AUP.

 

For a second account just open one as a new account, if you have trouble open a help desk ticket.

Or you can open a reseller account.

Pointing a domain inside a sub folder of your account is addon domains, which TCH does not support. This saves the server from getting filled up. To host a new domain, you will have to get a new hosting package or update your plan to a reseller one.
