rikishi Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I will of course be posting my inquiry to the Gallery forums (once I recover my login information) but I thought I'd try here as well. So far, a search of Gallery's forums gets nothing really (and that site is so slow, it's more frustrating than anything). I'm moving site to TCH and trying to migrate my Gallery 2 galleries. I've installed Gallery 2 (via the .tar file, extracting within File Manager), and Tech Support has setup my MySql database. I run the Intall, and get all the way to Step 8. It gives me no errors or warnings at the "Systems Check" stage, finds the database, creates the config.php file. One thing I'm wondering.....could it be, since I haven't yet changed the nameservers over (want to have everything up and running as smoothly as possible before I do that), that this is somehow causing a conflict? Anyone with experience installing Gallery 2 and the above errors? Is this something that TCH Tech Support can help with or am I on my own here? Much thanks for any advice or solutions! Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I only installed it once and had no problems doing so. Of course I installed it on a propagated domain. I don't think that's the problem though. Looks more like a permissions problem. Quote

rikishi Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Have you followed the installation instructions? yes Bruce, I followed those instructions, allowing for the fact that I was migrating rather than doing a fresh clean install. Of course I could just start from scratch and do a clean install, but seeing as I have 1300 images, I'd rather NOT re-upload those again. I haven't even received an email back from the Gallery site re: my lost password, argh!, so I haven't been able to post this query there. what about my other question: can I put in a support ticket for this? I'm not exactly sure what falls under support and what doesn't with 3rd-party apps.... Quote
TCH-Don Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Most large scripts like forums and image galleries will not run properly when called from the IP/~user address. This may be the problem. Support does not have to help with scripts, there are too many scripts out there for them to keep up with. But this forum is a good place to get help. Quote
