queenpictoria Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Hello, Cooler heads are prevailing today. I am thankfully beginnng to install my Thunderbird Email Client. Of course, I always fall off when I first get on, so now I have messed up my passwords. I don't remember if I typed in a Master Password. It isn't asking me for one, so I probably did. I found the password location, but I can't move through it. Perhaps the best way is to uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall it so I can start from scratch. Does this make sense? Thanks, queenpictoria Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Uninstalling Thunderbird will not remove your profile so the password will still be a problem. You will have to manually delete your profile. Quote

TCH-Bruce Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 You cannot delete your profile from the Start button. You need to open Windows Explorer and delete the profile folder. If you did not change the location of your profile it will be in the Documents and Settings --> Your desktop login id --> Application Data --> Thunderbird folder. Quote

Well, I must have deleted my Documents and Settings. I just updated XP so I really can't believe I did that. I am embarrassed, but hopefully someone else does this too. I really don't like being coddled. I am a bit unnerved!!!!! ArghHHHHHH. Any suggestions? I've had this new computer and XP for about 6 months now and am still adrift. Maybe I need to reformat my hard drive, eh? I'd settle for something more tame. Thanks, April Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Restore XP to a previous point. Select Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System Restore Sorry but that's about all I am able to tell you to do. How or why did you delete the entire Documants and Settings folder? Quote
