Mission Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 I have gotten a "bug" to create an icon for my web site. I have visited a few sites, like favicon.com. I also did a search for "free icon editors." I found a site listing several. But then I got to thinking that some of the free ones might be unstable or something -- I don't know. Does anyone know of a free app that's legit? Thanks. Quote
borfast Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Well, it's not made specifically for icons but The Gimp can save your images as .ico files plus a huge bunch of other image file formats. Quote

Mission Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 I downloaded The GIMP yesterday and made my icon last night. That was pretty neat! The interface was a li'l complicated for me, but I plunked around it until I did what I wanted to do! Quote
borfast Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Gimp's interface is a bit different from what is usual in the Windows world (I'm assuming you use Windows) and because of that, Scott Moschella created GIMPshop, which is The Gimp hacked (modified) to look like Photoshop. I forgot to mention this one before but you may want to give it a try. Quote
