Just curious if anyone knows:

 

Do the virtual hosting packages allow secure connections to our sites? If so, how do I go about setting it up so my site can be viewed with both secure and unsecure connections?

Yes, if you are not on a Reseller Server you access the shared SSL like this.

 

https://serverXX.totalchoicehosting.com/your-cpanel-login/path-to-file

 

The "XX" would be your server number.

Of course, if you prefer something like https://www.yourdomainattch.ext then you would need to get your own SSL cert.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help. One more question. How do I install a CGI? One that isn't already on my cpanel? One that I've downloaded and would like to run?

You upload it to the cgi-bin folder of your site with an FTP program or the File Manager in cPanel. Most cgi scripts are in text format and should be uploaded in ASCII mode. To make the script executable the permissions must be changed to 755 (-rwxr-xr-x)
