PathDæmon Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 (edited) I was updating our website's phpBB, and accidentally deleted an important directory. I'd backed up the site a month ago, and tried to download the backup, but I'm completely unable to access or work with it because of permissions issues. When trying to get the file over FTP, I get the message "backup-9.27.2005_16-34-43_*******.tar.gz: Permission denied Error -160: could not start data transfer" What can I do? We need our BBS back! EDIT: I've tried changing permissions from FTP, the file manager, and cron... all report that they are unable for permissions reasons. Edited October 30, 2005 by PathDæmon Quote
TCH-Bruce Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Please open a ticket with the help desk (link above). The mods do not have access to the servers or your account inforamtion and the techs don't frequent the forums. Quote
TCH-Don Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 For the future, in cpanel > backup you can download a Home Directory this is a compressed backup of all your files. Its good to make a backup before radical changes. Then You can upload a Home Directory file later if needed or just go inside the compressed file and copy any old files needed. Quote
