impleri Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 This has been happening to random files to me over the past week or so. i would try by FTP to overwrite a file and the permission would be denied. So, i log into C-Panel and try through the File Manager to overwrite the file. Still denied. So, i've tried deleting the file via FTP and C-Panel. Still denied. Does anyone know why this is happening? i am hosted on Server93 with the Silver shared plan. Quote
TCH-Don Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 You can open a help desk ticket to the techs and ask them to delete the file. If the file was created by a script then only the script or the techs can delete it. Quote
TweezerMan Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 You may be able to delete the file by first setting the permissions on the directory containing the file to 0777. (Don't forget to set the directory permissions back to what they were after deleting the file.) Quote
impleri Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 The strangest thing is that i uploaded that file...and the directory it is in is set to 777! Quote
