Mrs. Muddled Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Hi y'all! Gail has suggested that this is the spot I need to be to get some of the plethora of questions I have about my website, answered. I want to add an animation to one of the posts in my blog. However, the animation has a white background and I want a clear background. Do you have any idea how I can change that ... or is it impossible as I did not design the animation. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 You will need an animation program that can modify a GIF file and select the background to be transparent Like PSP or Photoshop Microsoft GIF Animator is free rather simple and hard to find but here is one place http://www.freewareweb.com/cgi-bin/archive.cgi?download=1&ID=288 Quote

I have opened that program but am really having difficulty figuring out just how to take a .gif or .jpg file into that program and replace its background with a clear view. Can you give me any descriptions as to what exactly I have to do once I get into the program? Perhaps you could take an animation of yours with a white background and open it in the program and see just what I have to do to erase the white. I find all the terms in the program very foreign. I just don't get it! Once I am able to do one animation ... I will be able to take it from there. Quote
TCH-Don Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 If you click the ? in the tool bar you find the help file. Click the standard folder icon to open your file select each frame one at a time and go to the image tab be sure transparency is checked click on the transparency color box select the background color from the palette go to the next frame and repeat then use the save as icon to save a new file.
