Okay, I'm on dial-up, so downloading MT, WP, and such are taking forever (I'm only connecting at 28800 on a good day). I've currently got LJ embedded ( http://www.perfectdreams.us/blog ), but I want something for updating my site, and just for that, that doesn't involve me having to install something and can change the look of it quite easily. Any suggestions or ideas?

Alright, from what I gather you want to do "quick edits" of your site (please, let me know if I'm wrong). Your best bet would be to install an FTP client (although you did say something that didn't require installing anything, but this is probably you best option on dialup). I highly recommend FileZilla. Once you log in to the server, in FileZilla there is an option in the right-click menu that says "View/edit", and if you click that, it will download the file and open it. You can then make your changes, click the save button, close notepad (or whatever else was opened), and FileZilla will ask you if you would like to upload the changed file. Click yes and that's that. That's how I've been updating my site lately (however I'm on broadband but I can't imagine dialup taking forever to download an html file (depending on how complex it is) from your server). Admittedly it's been quite a while since I've been on dialup so I may be wrong. Let me know if this is a viable option for you.

No, I was wondering about a blog, notifying of updates, and things like that, kind of like Moveable Type or something. I use FrontPage, and have an FTP program. I just have having to go through and do all the extra notifications of updates for my site, since I do updates at least one or two times a week, sometimes more.

Okay, new question ... I'm trying to do Blogger on mine:

FTP Server ftp.mysite.us

Blog URL http://www.mysite.us/weblog/

FTP Path: public_html/weblog/

Blog Filename: index.html

FTP Username -ladeda-

FTP Password -ladeda-

But I always get this:

001 java.net.UnknownHostException: ftp.mysite.us/

Ok when I was using Blogger I found it easier to create an FTP user just for Blogger.

Go into cPanel and create an FTP user called weblog and make sure it points to the "weblog" folder.

Over at Blogger:

FTP Server: ftp.your-TCH-domain.ext

FTP Path: /

FTP User: weblog@your-TCH-domain.ext

FTP Password: password you assign to FTP user

Blog URL: http://your-TCH-domain.ext/weblog

Blog Filename: index.html

That should do it.

Well, I finally got it to work :) Took some fiddling and having to make a whole new account, but I've got it working.

Thanks!!
