Frontpage File Upload Component

I cant get the file upload component to work. My extensions are working properly, but I can't seem to get this going. Is there a way to make this work or should I consider a different method?

What version of FP are you using? Are you getting any specific error messages? You might try looking at this link.

 

Additionally, you might want to try to reload your FP extensions.

Using FP 2003, no errors recieved until you try to run the page, then you get:

 

 

Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page: "http://www.computronics-net.com/thatfishguy/upload.htm"

 

Reloading extensions hasn't worked unfortunately.

 

Help desk told me that the server only has the basic extensions installed, and to come here....

From the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if your Web site is located on an Apache Web server. The File Upload form does not work with an Apache Web server.

 

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

TCH's web servers are Apache servers, so it would appear you cannot use FrontPage's File Upload form on web pages that are on your TCH account.

That's dissapointing. Does TCH have any windows servers, or is there another way to allow users to upload files through the website?

You can search the forum for upload scripts using PHP as well as hotscripts.com
