Email Password Same As Cpanel Login Password?

I'm trying to set up my email through outlook express, and have followed the directions on the TCH site. However, the password I'm using is being rejected. I assumed that I should use my email address and then the password that I use to login to cPanel, but think perhaps I at some point had to create an email password and have forgotten it. Any help would be appreciated.

I solved that problem, have gotten to the point where I can upload messages sent to my website account into my outlook express. However, when I try to send messages using outlook express, it keeps telling me "message not sent."

 

Any ideas on why this is?

I don´t use Outlook Express but I assume you have set up the emailadress through cpanel, if so its the password you assigned to that specific emailadress that OE asks for.

Thomas is correct you have to create an email account and the password you assign is the one you will use.

 

If you are still having problems sending mail you need to do this.

 

1-check the authentication before sending.

2-enter your email address as the logon.

3-enter your password

 

If it's still not sending your ISP may be blocking port 25. Change the SMTP port to 26 and it should send.

Addition to what Bruce says...

 

The isp may block port 26 too (mine does), and if thats the case you will need to use your isp´s smtp settings.
