The one thing I have not done is to delete the files and try to reinstall. David
TweezerMan Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 I guess your method came from this MSKB article? In the article, assuming you're running Windows XP SP2, the only method offered to repair IE6 and Outlook Express is to reinstall SP2. The method you describe only applies to Windows XP and Windows XP SP1.
Madmanmcp Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 From The Elder Geek: h_tp://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_reinstall_ie_and_oe_6.htm If that still didn't solve the problem I'd head back to Method I and do a complete reinstall of XP. It's still my contention that piling fixes and repairs onto a damaged operating system is just postponing the inevitable reformat. And I tend to agree. More and more I find systems that I can't repair and end up going back to a complete re-install anyway
TCH-Don Posted June 15, 2005 Posted June 15, 2005 turtle waves hi to David Long time David, good to see you here. On mine, an e-machine you can do a non distructive install, that keeps the registry so you do not lose any setting or programs and data. Do you have that option?
