OldTimer Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Hi, Ran thru most of the posts here dealing with xoops and was just wondering if someone is currently using it? I have it installed on my local server and it seems pretty nice. The support and docs. are also very good. They even have a tutorial download "xoops for blondes" which was great. And I'm not even blonde. So if someone is using it or has in the past, your thoughts would be helpful. Thanks Greg Quote
borfast Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Hi Greg. I tried Xoops some time ago and I tried it again recently, in the hope that it had been improved but I still don't like it. The general idea behind it (a completely Object Oriented and extensible CMS) is pretty good but I still prefer Drupal or Mambo. Quote
OldTimer Posted May 11, 2005 Author Posted May 11, 2005 Thanks Raul, Well I'll play around with it and see if it meets my needs. Had a go with Mambo, just seems a bit on the heavy side. Also tried Limbo, but it's still fairly new and lacks in support. I'll take a gander at Drupal. Thanks Greg Quote
Patricia Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Hi Greg, i tried Xoops as well. i liked it but it didn't work too well with your own documents, and was fairly hard to customise the way i wanted too.. I've tried alot of CMS's from *nuke, drupal, xoops, mambo and more. but i have found dragonflycms to be the best one out there. in my experiences anyways. it's still really new. only came out last november so there aren't alot of mods or what not but i find it very promising... Drupal is nice as well I hope you find something you enjoy Patricia Quote
