jsull Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 (edited) The post about transfering a site with cpanel is a couple years old. I just want to confirm that this is still a viable option. Also, would you recommend I do the switch on a Friday, since this is for an organization, that way there's less real email loss? Also, it's about 200MB total. Is that too large? TCH-Bruce Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 cPanel transfers are still possible. But it only works if allowed from your current host. The help desk can confirm. The switch shouldn't matter when you make it. Mail will need to be checked at both the old and new locations for a while after the transfer and DNS changes have been made. It will take a while for all the DNS servers to update. You can use IP addresses for the email checks until it's all coming in on the TCH server. There should be no email loss. Quote
